MODULE 03: INFORMATION SHAPES THE FUTURE CITY EXERCISE 01: Making the invisible - visible 1.Upload a photo from your area, or the closest urban area, (the photo must be taken by you) and comment all the information that is visible in this photo. This picture shows in foreground, the entrance of the Mouloud Mammeri university at Tizi-Ouzou with the flow of students and vehicles, in the background, there are blocks hosting the administration and classrooms, then farther we see several buildings that are outside the university, they belong to a residential area that was considered before university extantion as exterior to the city. 2.Identify and present two "invisible information" that can be extracted out of the visible information of this photo. The first invisible information is the employees of the university, one can imagine teachers, management employees, those in the catering ...etc. these are mostly inhabitants of the city, and had their impact on its layout. The second invisible information is the students behavior. 3.Select one of your choices from the previous question and describe how this invisible information can become knowledge and contribute to the planning of a more livable urban space. I think analyzing students behavior data can allow us to get information about their needs in terms of equipment, circulation, transportation, recreation, etc.., by studying the results we could constitute a knowledge that will be used to improve livability of the city by integrating these needs in the city planning .
