The image is collage of Buildings located in South Mumbai,India. The photo portrays how infrastructure like Telephone Mobile towers and Air-Conditioning (AC)outdoor units have ever increasing stress on the urban structures. The collage of image are of heritage buildings located in the premises of SOUTH MUMBAI areas like Churchgate and Mumbai CST (Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal). The topmost image is of the Telecommunication Building(BSNL) ,at CST which offers telecommunication services in Mumbai, the bottom left image is of the famous EROS cinema building at Churchgate,Mumbai and the bottom right image is of the EMPIRE ROYALE building near CST station,MUMBAI.All these buildings are old and have a heritage value. The buildings are of ART DECO style and were built during the British Rule in India ,which adds a character to Architecture of South Mumbai. These buildings were never planned for placing the outdoor units for air conditioning units and also mobile towers on roof tops .But its stress has terribly impacted the heritage value of the buildings. As indoor cooling and mobile phones has become a mandatory need of the urban population, the infrastructure like the Mobile towers and outdoor ACS, cooling towers has imposed a tremendous loads on electricity at urban scale .As,we know the outdoor Units release harmful CO2 emissions which causes ozone depletion and also High frequency Mobile towers release EMF waves which are harmful to the health of the resident citizens staying inside the building which has mobile towers on their roof tops,an urgent need for effective planning for these Mobile towers by making a separate land allocation for constructing High frequency mobile is a must. Also ,an alternative method for individual indoor ACS would be having DISTRICT COOLING SYSTEM which help in reducing the AC loads on the electricity.
