I visited Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Mosque in 2012 and for me it is an amazing example of this statement. The carpet, designed by Iranian artist Ali Khaliqi, measures 5,627 m2 and is predominantly made from wool (originating from New Zealand and Iran). It was made in Iran. There are seven imported chandeliers from the company Faustig in Munich Germany that incorporate millions of Swarovski crystals. Outside, the structure is covered by Carrare marble coming from Italy. Inside, the column are covered by white marble coming from Macedonia, cut in Dongguan, in China (Source Wikipedia and guided tour of the Mosque). Less impressive but a good illustration as well: I leave in UK and in my house, the fire alarm system comes from Ireland, the microwave comes from China, the dishwasher comes from Germany, it is highly probable that the paint on the wall does not come from UK.
