The image is from the Web and not mine! My thoughts refer to Bern Wankdorf, an agglomeration area of Bern, including a transportation hub, where people mostly work. 1. People, energy, and transportation. 2. People commute to work (flow), stay in the office for a day (stock), and return home in the evening (flow); energy accumulates during daytime when people are working (stock). In the late evening and during nighttime, less energy is needed (flow), however, a few lights stay on the entire night (stock), before they are joined by increased lightning and heating in the early morning (flow); transportation, especially public, flows the entire day and most of the night. Since Bern Wankdorf serves as a transportation hub, carriers sometimes stay in the hub for a few minutes (stock) before they go on again (flow). 3. Recent real estate and area developments include living space, too (besides working space). Therefore, a greater stock of people in the evening and during nighttime is expected in the future. This will lead to greater food flows into the area, which also the previous commuting flow and stock of people will benefit from during their work stays in Bern Wankdorf.
