Answer 2. I live in Jaipur, India. Increased transportation has laid to heavy traffic causing air and noise pollution. Although I live in a lush green campus where only electric vehicles are allowed, the change in temperature is instantly noticeable when we leave the campus. Answer 3. The measures I would propose to reduce the UHI effect is to plant more trees and make more green areas along the major road junctions, reduce the use of transportation use electric vehicles etc. Answer 4. As of now there are no UHI effect concerning policy in my area but people are becoming aware of effects of UHI and there are initiatives on individual and community levels, like building more green spaces in the surrounding.
