There are many ways to begin designing a city or town-core; by having your priorities in place as it will establish a structure in hierarchical spaces. In the picture you can see that the polyclinic; a neighborhood-friendly version of a hospital that provides basic to intermediate healthcare checks, thus reducing the load on hospitals itself, is the anchor or is located near/at the heart of the town. it is then flanked with basic amenities like shops, food, supermarket, barbers while the rest are surrounded by accommodations like housing. The interesting part of such housing is that it utilities a podium-tower form, while usually leaving the ground floor as a void (hence known as a void deck) which facilities as a make-shift events space for malay weddings or chinese funerals, it also serves as an entertainment space for kids to play football, also serves as an environmental to facilitate wind-flow movements. There are times also that the ground floor of such housing isn't accompanied with a void-deck, but with tiny amenities. This hence further blurs the line between the housing infrastructure, shopping/basic amenities infrastructures and healthcare infrastructures.
