Most Liveable Cities: Amsterdam, Vienna, Copenhagen, London, Tokyo Most Important Characteristics: Access to healthcare, Individual safety/Low crime rates, Green space (eg. parks), Non-oppressive/democratic government, Widespread public transportation On the above list, I've ranked my city, London, as the 4th. This is because the city meets many of my personal standards even though it might not objectively be categorised as being one of the most "liveable". Although it can be noisy, and extremely crowded (especially in public transport and closer to central London), this is mainly a result of the constant availability of resources and events within the city. Despite not having listed this in my top 5 characteristics, I believe this makes a city much more enjoyable even though it might create certain problems in making it "liveable" for most people. The multi-cultural nature of London as a city is also an important factor for me personally. While there are also improvements that can be made in London in almost all of the 5 characteristics outlined, I believe the requirements are still met at a good standard. For example, the healthcare system is not perfect but the availability of free healthcare is crucial and should be available in more countries.
