Electricity and similar infrastructure is extremely impactful when it comes to Bodrum. However, as a city with a varied terrain of valleys and beaches, the transmission of electricity and methods of clean water transportation are not necessarily the easiest. Although the city is quite small, and not very densely populated year-round (especially in the winter), there are several factors that are important to consider. The city becomes extremely populated during the summer time with many national and international visitors. The night-life around this time is also very active, making the consumption of electricity even higher for a majority of the area. Restaurants and bars stay open until early hours of the morning, and due to the abundance of competition many places use features like light to grab attention, with many hotels having things like fountains in their lobbies. The overall demand for commerce and luxury also means that bigger, more extravagant malls and commercial spaces are constantly being built. During summer mornings and afternoons, electricity is once again crucial due to high temperatures in weather - meaning air conditioning is always on in hotels, shops and restaurants.
