By changing the policies regarding the transporting sector can bring in good reduction in the energy consumption. The first thing to address is the promotion of public transport. The country need to develop exhaustive public transport system which is now lacking. This in turn makes the people avoid using private vehicles and energy consumption and pollution level comes down tremendously. Again as a secondary result of this will be decrease in UHI, and shall reduce the domestic energy consumption too.
