1.The most important stocks and flows in my area would be: water, electricity and food. 2.Findings - Water supply: Our water is stored at Warragamba Dam and then distributed to Prospect Reservoir for maintaining water quality. It is finally transferred to our greater catchment of Ryde. - Electricity supply: Coal accounts for about 75 per cent of Australia's electricity generation. I was unable to find the exact power station but main supply for/ my area would be from coal fired electricity power stations in Hunter region. (Photo is a decommissioned coal plant in Sydney) - Food: Australia is self-sufficient for food with actual surplus in stock. It is estimated that the country produces enough food for 75 million people in a country of just 25 million. 3. For water, Australia already has desalination plants as backup water source, which could be used in the future as a resilient alternative water source. For electricity, I hope to see us invest more into other renewable sources such as solar with the abundant sun exposure across the year. For food, I hope we continue to find more efficient methods of agriculture as extreme events such as bushfire and drought are imminent dangers.
