In Dhaka commute and traffic is the biggest problem of urban life. With 7km/hr avr speed, this city is on the brink of death. As a solution I am not proposing an isolated app, rather an add-on app with the day to day use of our maps. This will focus on 1. Pedestrian and bike riders: With real time easiest pathway update, road crossing details (overbridge height and type, estimated time for next signal) and security features like SOS and direct police reporting. 2. Public transport: Real time tracking and fare transparency, Traffic jam cause transmission and quality management features. The use of personal vehicles would be acknowledged as well. But fitness of the vehicle would be emphasized and over all it will be discouraged to use this front in Dhaka. Finally, all the features will be connected to the branches of city governance so that they get the reports and problem data of the citizens on a participatory method. Finally, all the data will be sent back to urban research center of the local technical university who will conduct research and find solutions to the problems as we tinker the system continually to make it perfect.
