Responsive cities are not only smart but also display alignment between the activities of the citizens and the response of the government. Hence, any proposed platform would need to be like a metaphor to the three-legged stool, with the legs being the citizen inputs, the response of the government, and the platform to collect, analyze, and share data. One of the platforms already existing in Kyiv is reporting on illegal parking practices and bad road conditions – anyone with the app on a mobile phone can take a picture of the situation, indicate the location and the app sends the data to the respective government agency. The same can be extended to monitor and improve waste collection practice – whether it is done on time and in a quality manner. Or for noise levels and crowd density for places of recreation – so the family with young children can choose more quiet places and party goers can opt for the most happening places.
