My name is Humair Subhani and the photo was captured in early 2017 in the province of Nathu-La, Sikkim, India. Sikkim is one of the most serene locations in the entire Indian Subcontinent and also shares its borders with China, Nepal and Bhutan. Nathu-La is one of the most remote locations of the country with India China Trade route. It has an army base camp and an extensive road network for the transport of export-import goods across Indo-China border. The presence of high voltage lines in such a remote location is a proof of high dependency of mankind on electrical infrastructure. Even in such location, although small, but electricity has a lot to serve. From lighting to heating (temperature drops down to -20 degrees Celsius), from transportation to entertainment and to the satellite communication systems. The high-end surveillance systems to enhance border security also runs on power. The factor of dependency is increasing and it shall reach new horizons sooner or later. Such landscapes are an exception to the general usage because of low user density and restricted access, otherwise the usage has crossed many thresholds.
