Greetings ! I am Sahit from Vijayawada, India. 1.The maximum UHI intensity measurements taken were from Benz circle(central business area)&Kothuru(rural area)of Vijayawada. 2.The UHI intensity was maximum after sunset to till midnight. 3.The data was collected from a research paper on 'Emerging UH Islands in AndhraPradesh Capital Area' by JNTU (kakinada) & APPSC (AP). 4.A temperature difference of around 15 degree Celsius was observed between the two locations. 5.a) As the climate in the specified area was tropical, it would play a role in increasing UHI effect & the period of study which was summer season might have played an effect on readings. b) Urban :The surrounding areas were mostly concrete structures,heavy traffic area,lesser green spaces etc would play an role in increased UHI intensity. Rural :Comparative calmer surroundings,presence of wet lands,vegetation etc results in lesser readings as against to urban core areas. 6. To mitigate these effects, the then government (2014-2019) of AP in 2016 planned to build the capital city Amaravati with 50% green cover, 10% water bodies, a lot focus on walkways & bicycle tracks, District Cooling solutions and many. However the world class smart future city was cancelled due to political changes in 2019.
