This photo is taken in the Pacific train station, one of the most central of Buenos Aires. The repositioning of rail tracks in altitude was recently completed and the train trajectory was habilitated again post several months of partial functioning. During the reconstruction period the congestion in nearby main roads was enormous since commuters had to use alternative ways of transportation such as buses and private cars. This demonstrates the dependency of the peopleās flow on the regularity of a transportation system like the train. The extensive reformation of the new elevated train trajectory and train stations has a direct effect on the urban and architectural form. Pedestrian and vehicle passes had been unobstructed and more secure. Various parcels and buildings have been reevaluated and are currently subject to new project developments. The train transportation infrastructure is one of the more accurate, ecofriendly as far as the energy needs in relation to the quantity of people transferred. In addition is remains very accessible with a low ticket price. The better planning of the trains network and improvement of its facilities and infrastructure thus plays a crucial role to the sustainable development of a modern megacity such as Buenos Aires.
