From a recent study it has been observed that the temperature differences for temperature differences for road, building area, open space and water body are 3.8, 4, 3.8 and 3.7oC respectively, thus we observe UHI effect around buildings and roads. Effects: Air Quality abd Greenhouse Gases Human health and comfort reduction Increase in energy consumption Reduction in water quality 3. Measures proposed: Plantation of more trees and vegetation Green roofs Cool roofs Cool Pavements 4. Policy: Our community don’t take up much policies to mitigate UHI other than planting trees in abundance. But that is negligible compared to the rate of deforestation in our country.
