My usual commute involves different modes of transport, including walking, train, and the use of car. I live in a town that is about 30 minutes drive away from the city's central, which is where I work. In the morning, my wife drops me off at a near by train station. This takes only 5 minutes. I then take the train to the city which takes another 20 minutes. When I get off the train, I still have to walk for another 10 minutes before getting to work. My way back from work is the reserves process, except that when I get off at the train station, I walk home. This walk takes 10 minutes. All of my routes combined sum up to a total of 55 minutes of just travelling. We would like to move to another place that is closer to our work, and a place that has close proximity to where we would want to spend time playing and learning too. As an architect, we have always tried to increase walkability in all urban projects that we work on, increase number of foothpaths as well as bike lanes for more people to be active.
