I can identify the following stocks and flows entering and leaving my city: Cuenca, Ecuador (picture): In the first case, there is an important stock of rain water that is absorbed in the mountains and it reaches the city through several rivers, it is stored in reservoirs, then it is consumed and finally it is cleaned in special pools before being returned to the rivers when leaving the city. The second case is clay, the most used raw material for construction in Cuenca which is transformed into brink and ceramic tiles. The material is mined outside the city and it is brought to local factories and then it is distributed to construction warehouses and shops. This material is extensively used and later on it is returned to construction waste sites outside the city when its lifetime is over. This process could be further improved if the huge amounts of waste generated is recycled at some point. The third case refers to the daily changes in population particularly in the centre of the city due to the amount of tourist that visit the city, their historic buildings and markets and which increase the pedestrian movement during the day.
