The main natural elements present in my landscape, the Caracas valley, correspond to the coastal mountain range (El Avila National Park) and the Guaire River at the bottom of the valley. Among the provisioning services offered by the mountains we have the fruits and flowers produced in the small traditional towns, and also medicinal products. The National Park Area is protected, so the extraction of wood or intensive cultivation is not allowed. However, the river and the mountains have valuable regulating services such as: Filtration of rainwater which flows into the Guaire River, capture of carbon dioxide by the 80,000 ha of green area, it also fulfills a climatic function by regulating the temperature of the city by casting shadow over it. Finally one of the main services offered by the park is that it represents a recreational and cultural space for families and the more adventurous ones, extreme experiences such as climbing are offered, but also, being able to enjoy a picnic. It is one of the landmarks of the city most valued by its inhabitants. Besides being the home of the macaws so characteristic of our city offering a protected habitat.
