Venezuela is a country that has a large number of oil wells, most of the oil production is exported to other countries, however, it is still the main source of fossil energy used in the country. In second place is gas, followed by hydroelectric plants and coal production. Energy is consumed mainly by industry, followed by transportation and lastly other activities such as housing and commerce. To reduce the CO2 emissions produced by fossil fuels, it is necessary to change conventional energy sources for those that are greener and cleaner. In Venezuela, because it is located in a tropical area, almost on the equator, the incidence of solar rays is very direct, which makes it an excellent candidate to implement photovoltaic plant projects to take advantage of solar energy. A first public policy could be to restrict the use and production of fossil fuels to a certain percentage, through counter-incentives. And also generate incentives for companies and homes to install photovoltaic panels.
