The theme of urban heat islands is a fundamental factor that defines the liveliness of a city. Researching the urban climates in the cities of the United States (Miami, Cincinnati and Atlanta) I could see that Miami is the one with the highest heat values. I infer that this is due, among other things, to: its climate, altitude, the incidence of the sun, skyscrapers and materials that reflect light, and the presence of canyon streets. On the other hand, researching about UHI in Caracas, I found, according to the Central University of Venezuela, that almost the entire city shows thermal anomalies, especially in the densest areas. Although the city of Caracas benefits from the green areas of El Avila National Park, it is also affected by urban heat and an increase in temperature has been recorded. However, in my city there are no public policies aimed at correcting the problem of UHI. The main thing is to recognize the problem, investigate it and address it. And as a first measure, I would suggest increasing the trees in the city, since the city lacks trees and these help to increase the comfort of the inhabitants when traveling in a tropical city.
