FC-02x Livable Future Cities ( Self- Paced) - Compulsory Exercise 5

My usual mode of transport is cycling. I live in the city of Hannover (Germany) which has a very good bike infrastructure. Whenever possible, I take the bike to go to work (Route 2, see picture) or to any other place within the city in a range of about 10 km. The reasons are that cycling gives me a lot of mobility and flexibility, I can practically reach everywhere without changing the mode of transport (i.e. switch busses) and without waiting times. It also gives me a regular workout, thus contributing to my physical as well as mental wellbeing since I enjoy cycling and it contributes to my happiness. It is good for the environment, too. Short distances I walk. My alternative mode of transport is the bus or tram. I sometimes use them when we have bad weather conditions (too much rain or storm, icy streets) or when I am travelling longer distances. Interestingly, between the two routes I can take to reach work, cycling is even slightly faster instead of the walk & bus-route. The factors most important in my decision-making regarding transportation are distance and travel time, weather conditions, physical exercise and the environment.
