Three important examples of stocks and flows in São Paulo are: energy, water and density. Brazil has a large amount of drinking water available, in the city we have great water reservoirs for drinking and almost every house has an individual reservoirs as well. The great reservoirs of water have also the purpose of became an source of energy. The main energy matrix in Brazil is hydroelectric power. The third example of stocks and flows is density, as in other sul american countries, the cities in Brazil still growing. In São Paulo the urban area grows a bit every year making ares far away from the city center more dense. How this stocks and flows could chance in the years to come? As the city grows the areas around the reservoirs of water are being occupied for the poors, making the risks of contamination of the water higher,this effect also the density because as the city spreads without proper planning city planners and the government have no contro. The stocks and flows of energy can change in the next years towards new kinds as an alternative to hydroelectric.
