The photograph is taken from a slum in Chennai city. The picture shows separate dust bins provided in the slum for degradable and non-degradable solid wastes. The people depend on infrastructure for their daily living purposes. Water, Electricity and sanitary facilities are very important in human life. Proper facilities are needed for solid waste and waste water management. In most of the countries the public authorities are monitoring the infrastructure systems. The infrastructure should be affordable to people in all economic classes. Earlier the infrastructure facilities demanded more man power and time but nowadays the process is comparatively easy by the help of new technologies.
