1. Oil production. 2. Transportation and industry. 3. At the moment, oil is the main source of energy (for internal use and exports). In the last decades, our country's economy has increased its dependency on oil, while its production has lowered, due to terrible mismanagement. I agree that while we need to address the problems that this industry is facing, since it relates directly to the well-being of our economy, it is far from being environmental friendly or sustainable. I personally think that we should pivot towards alternative energy sources, such as hydropower for example; Venezuela has a large potential for taking advantage of it. Another idea is that, since the primary consumption of energy is towards transportation, we should turn to more efficient energy sources for this, such as electrical or hybrid cars, especially in public transportation. I think this would make a significant difference in our reliance on fossil fuels and CO2 emissions. Note: The image uploaded was not taken/made by me.
