The picture shows the impact exherted by the infraestructure in Santiago, Chile. In the last decades, mirrored glas buildings have emerged in the city and many over altitudes that implies 20 or more floors. This has caused the view to be covered in many directions, particularly towards the mountain range. In many residential neighborhoods, the high density of buildings does not allow open view in almost all directions. The impact of the infrastructure is also perceived on the hill that is seen on the left of this picture. Its summit has been used to install antennas for television and radio signals. Currently, more than a dozen antennas can be observed. Considering the global change, perhaps the most important level of impact could be related to the many mirror-glass buildings. The mirror glass reflects sunlight, being dangerous to health if we think that Santiago is an area relatively close to the hole in the ozone layer. This dependence on using mirror glass for building could also increase the occurrence of urban heat islands among a number of problems in the near future.
