FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

I took this photo with a drone in my patio. It shows the type of housing known as "parcela" that are usually located on the outskirts of urban Santiago. Houses with visible pools are identified. It can also be noticed some houses with chimneys. I took this photo in winter, a season that is characterized by poor air quality occurring throughout Santiago. Sometimes air pollution is even worse in rural areas where people use to burn firewood. The two "invisible" variables that can be inferred are the water quality in the swimming pools (chlorine level, microorganisms, etc.) and the air pollution around the neighborhood. I select the last one to describe how could it be useful. For example, air pollution could be measured by installing many low-cost sensors for air pollutants, such as particulate matter. Hotspots could be identified, as well as houses that are emitting more or simply receiving more pollution than others. Using that kind of measurements would make it possible to think in a better planning of the living space.
