1. The dominant fossil fuel used in India is coal. 2. Coal is mostly used in industries and transportation especially in railways. 3. The increasing usage of replenishable resources such as oil, coal would lead to depletion of resources, increasing CO2 emission and air pollution. Thus policies should be put forward to use renewable resources for energy production. The profile of the country is diverse, hence variant energy sources should be adopted such as hydroelectricity, solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, bio energy etc.
