1. The dominant fossil fuels used in the United States Are Oil and Gas, with coal as the third highest produced. 2. Oil is used mostly for transportation and gas is split between "other" uses 3. Policies that the US could focus on to reduce the amount of fossil fuels produced and used in the country are around transportation and investing in renewable energy sources. For transportation, the US could transition to more electric vehicles, reducing the reliance on Oil. This however, would increase the natural gas usage as much of that is used for electricity production. Therefore, the US should also invest in more renewable forms of energy to take up the increased demand for electricity
