Visible information • Business parks and shopping centres (Rivonia village) are within proximity. • Inclusive transportation system as there is a nearby taxi (and bus) rank, for those that rely on public transport instead of using their individual transport. • Traffic lights (intersection) to help control the flow of movement. • Different businesses are situated in the area such as engineering, retail, and garages. • The picture was taken at a time where traffic was low and motor vehicles were free flowing. • Billboard on the side of the road suggest that it is quite a busy road with a good potential to market business. 2. Invisible information • Potential for affordable residential development in these nodes would assist in decreasing the traffic in the peak hours. • Space for potential recreational activities 3. The potential for affordable residential development in these nodes would assist with decreasing the traffic in the peak hours of the morning and afternoon. The invisible information can become knowledge to developers to make areas more functional by making activities that include work, shopping and recreational activities make urban areas within proximity to promote functionality.
