Hallo everyone What you can see on the picture, is a construction site in Espoo, Finland. this is a multistory building with offices, shops and residential areas. This image is a good proof of globalised economy and dependence of construction materials from other countries. The amount of countries, that are involved in this project is hard to estimate. As an example, you can see Doka formwork. The origin of slab and wall formwork is Austria. There is a huge variety of peaces, needed to put together to build the frame of the building. Another example is steel reinforcement. As you might know, Finland does not produce steel itself, but imports it from Russia. Russia is a neighbour of Finland and has tight economic connections with it. One more example, that can be found on the picture is Genie Material lifts on the bottom left side. These machines are originally produced in America. But in our days production plants can be found around the world. In conclusion, i would like to say, that it is impossible to imagine any construction, that would use only local products.
