I recently visited a small village in the state of Meghalaya . The name of the village is Mawphlang. We went on a trail that was constructed around 200 years ago by a British Administrator. The path is fully made of rocks and there are single key arc bridges over streams in the trail. The trail leads to a small village that is totally dependent on the tourists stalling for rest and refreshments. There is no mode of transport to reach the village in order to conserve the nature. The whole trail is extremely friendly to the environment and also loaded with many scenic views. Apart from this, there is 24/7 electricity supply even in such a remote area. The street lamps are solar powered. Most of the electricity is used for heating of rooms as it lies at 4000 ft. above sea level. Firewood and coal is also used for heating but still electric heaters prove to be more effective.
