Uploaded on 2020-07-07 by Aleksei Samrai
What you can see on the picture is the typical residential area in the uptown of Espoo. Espoo is the second largest city of Finland, after the capital - Helsinki. Visible information There is a 2 lane road that divides dwelling houses on the right side and a parking lot on the left side. Modern houses are 4 storeys high. Sidewalk and streetlights accompany the residential area. On the left side you can see numerous cars on the parking area and along the road, bushes, trees and road signs. Invisible information A large amount of cars makes a lot of problems in the residential area. First of all it concerns the safety of dwellers and children, that can run out of the house and get stuck under the wheels. Parking places take away precious land from people. There must be a better solution for this. For example, underground parking or parking houses that will contain all the cars. Secondly, all driving cars produce noise, that disturb inhabitants. We can manage the amount of noise by reducing speed in the area, but this is not the best solution. Electric cars and bicycles suit better for this.
