The photo is of a part of the Metro Rail construction site in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The spans clearly show the usage of reinforced concrete and steel frames in large amount. The main materials used which are concrete and steel are of global economy. Though raw steel is imported from several different countries and given shape here, the concrete is totally made with local materials. There are several concrete industries in Bangladesh who’re constantly producing concrete and also exporting to other countries and a large part of iron and steel is derived from recycling old ships.
