The photo is of the Metro rail construction site near Bangla Motor, Dhaka. Several information can be mentioned from the photo. • The mixture of different types of vehicles on the same lane with no indication marks. • The dust coverage of the roads as well as the surrounding for lack of maintenance. • No zebra crossing for the pedestrians. • Narrowing of the road due to construction. • Visible traffic jam but not that compact due to red traffic signal. • Both high rise and residential buildings, not very ideal for the location near main road. • Fair amount of green. Invisible information • Lack of road crossing safety measurements • The administrations being inconsiderate about the city’s air quality Knowledge • The construction site should be made dust free through spraying water constantly with few hours in interval. The Metrorail project reduced the air quality of Dhaka to the point of listing its name as the top city of the world in case of air pollution. Air quality is vital for livability in city where the project didn’t take necessary measures. Thus, ensuring preventive measures for reducing air pollution prior to any construction project should be made mandatory
