The picture shows the Copenhagen Arena by 3XN in Ørestad South, in particular we can see the construction phase going at the end. I shoot this image in June when I was in the Danish capital during a university journey. The shape is the result of a specific purpose, create a "multi-purpose arena that can attract spectators from near and far, while ensuring that the building’s presence will be a win for the entire neighborhood." Due to this reason the organic facade allows a natural light source for the interior space through a semi-transparent skin: it is a combination of glass and terracotta. Their origins is very hard to find but it is not so difficult to imagine how globalized and imported are these materials. In this case is interesting seeing how imported material are chosen for specific architecture goals linked with the context.
