For this exercise I analyse Avides Moreira Park in Porto, a project associated to a charity institution and a psychiatric hospital. This initiative promoted the requalification of vacant green areas that belong to the hospital to enable the creation of: urban community farming, therapeutic gardens for the hospital comunnity, orchards, greenhouses and recreation areas. In the context of Provisioning services, this Park provides food, medicinal resources and fresh water; the creation of 3 hectares dedicated to the promotion of Nature, associated to the existing tree patrimony, has great expression in Regulating services such as Erosion prevention and maintenance of soil fertility, Pollination and Carbon sequestration and storage; since this Park is considered one of the largest urban community gardens of Europe, it has the potential to promote the maintenance of genetic diversity and the creation of habitats to shelter different species (Supporting services); the inclusion of the hospital community with the creation of therapeutic gardens reinforces one important service in the Cultural context, "Recreation and mental and physical health". * The image selected is not mine.
