This is an image of a Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. Although most of the building materials are sourced from within the country, their general concept embraces the traditional Japanese wood material 'Hinoki'. Hinoki is a rare, pricy material and thus when companies need to mass-produce, they use replica instead of the real hinoki. It is very common to find buildings using Vietnamese materials only, even when materials originate from abroad. This is because Vietnam is a developing country and does not have a reliable, cost-efficient supply route for building materials.
