(a) Provisioning services in Hyderabad, India : Using multiple dams and pumps across the state, water is being supplied to the city. Some dried up lakes and tanks are being filled up as well, improving biodiversity. Many water tanks and pumping stations are also being installed to enable services to people in the outer areas of the city. (b) Attempts are being made to treat waste water at various places before letting them into local lakes and rivers. All major lakes and rivers now have sewage treatment plants to help with water quality. (c) Urban forests are being planned at a few major areas to improve the biodiversity of the region. Another interesting attempt is being made with "monkey foodcourts", where fruit bearing trees are planted along side ponds. This also reduces the chances of monkeys entering urban areas. (d) Lots of parks and cycling routes are being opened up across the city to enable people to use them for recreation.
