1.Oil is the fossil fuel most abundantly used in India. Though in production coal comes next, a large part of it is lost in power losses. Hence the next most used is Bio-fuels. 2. Oil & Coal are mainly used for industry and transport whereas bio-fuels are used for other purposes. 3. India being a tropical country is blessed with solar energy potential. Even the north or north eastern states where the solar energy may not be abundant they have wind and water energy potential due to heavy rains. We have to tap renewable energy sources and gradually reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Initial investment maybe expensive but it will eventually payoff especially in terms of environment protection and pollution.
