In Finland, oil imports contribute to a large amount of the energy consumption. This is particularly relevant in the transport sector. I would recommend two approaches for reducing the dependency on oil imports: 1. offering subsidies for usage of electric vehicles, such as public transport and train, but also including personal electric vehicles 2. adding a petroleum lifecycle tax that increases the cost of petroleum to reflect it's impact on the environment
