1-People Business tourism is a big industry in Belo Horizonte, With a very developed chain of hotels, restaurants, bank agencies and commerce, the city can host important international events like the III Meeting of the Americas in 1997. BH is also the entryway to famous touristic citys like Ouro Preto, Mariana, and Tiradentes. 2-Knowlwdge Belo Horizonte is known for having institutions of exelency such as UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais), that is one of the most important universities of Brazil, and FIOCRUZ, a very important institution that have made great advances in the studies of vaccines. The major sectors are computing and biotechnology. 3-Service Most of the economy of Belo Horizonte is concentrated in the terciary sector, therefore, the major product of the city is services, such as financial services, real estate activities and public administration. In the future, for the benefit of the area, the stocks and flows of people could change in the direction of promoting more cultural tourism in the city, atracting more visitors interested in the history and architecture of BH. Also, the flows of knowlege need to be encouraged by the government, that lately has been cutting funds from the universities and reserach institutions.
