I have taken a photo of a street of the city of Kumbakonam from Tamil Nadu, India. The visible aspects: 1. Built forms 2. Road dividers 3. Street lights 4. The weather/cloud conditions 5. Pedestrians The invisible aspects: 1. Economic activities through unique makeshift stalls and shops 2. Building typology 3. The kinds of goods and items that might go on sale 4. The potential number of vehicles getting blocked due to mid-street markets. I am mostly interested in the unique economic activities of buy and selling items in these makeshift stalls. It would be interesting to know what ratio of tourist vs. local purchases happen in order to get the gist of the overall tourist activity in a city as culturally rich as Kumbakonam.
