Hello to everyone, my name is David, I'm a student at San Francisco University in Quito, Ecuador and in this picture I show the construction of the Quito subway as an example of construnction as a global economy. In this picture we can see workers, materials and instruments. In my country we produce cement, steel and concrete, but when we talk about machines and modern equipment, almost most of them are imported. Meaning that is a great expense that the builiding company has to deal with. Yes, we produce the raw materials for the construction but I think that the machinery and the necessary indumentary that we need to import in order to complete a work like this superpasses by far the economical expectations. Making the gap between exports and imports bigger and bigger. This photo wasn't taken by me, but this construction is almost done and I'm proud of what we are achieveing as a city.
