1-The temperatures in cities in the United States are different when we analyze and compare rural or suburban areas with the center of these cities (denser areas) reaching numbers like 16Fº of difference between these areas. 2-The main causes of UHI in my area are the highways that generate constant vehicle traffic, creating gas and noise pollution.Temperature at my place is 75Fº. Downtown has mixed use with local commerce and residences, the negative side is that it has less vegetation cover, which creates an island of heat. The areas far from downtown (where I live) even with a lot of vegetation around, the community needs to travel a big distance in search of services. So it is necessary to use vehicles, which increases pollution. 3-One option would be to have more services nearby and avoid dispersed urbanization, this would preserve more areas with vegetation. As a result, the community would be encouraged to make a daily journey on foot or by bicycle. 4-Yes, the area where I live is the location of many companies and the area is basically full of parking lots, highways and few services for the communities.
