In olden days locally available materials were used for construction of buildings. Materials like straw, bamboo, clay, bricks which were available in the nearby premises reduced the construction and transportation costs minimum and made the maintenance easy. These materials were also environment friendly. But now a days the case is much different. Due to globalization construction materials from different countries are used worldwide. Materials like Italian marbles and quality stones from India are examples of this. In present scenario the new built houses contains at least one construction material which is imported from another country. In the given picture European tiles are used for flooring of this building, wood is used for the construction of cabinet and ceiling, walls are made of concrete. The building is situated in India but appears to be in European styles. Nowadays the style of buildings is changing from traditional to European. The major change can be seen in the use of sanitary wares. In most of the India’s newly built houses European toilet wares are used instead of Indian. From all of this we can understand globalization has also impacted the construction sector making a tremendous increase in imported building materials.
