a. Provisioning – very few are provided in Singapore with over 90 percent of the food imported. No natural fresh water bodies. b. Regulating – Aim to plant 1 million trees and create more parks and green spaces by 2030. This is to be done in line with climate change, providing more shade, lowering the urban heat island effect, increasing interception with increased and intense levels of precipitation, reduced flooding, help with air quality and pollution and store more carbon. c. Habitat services – Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve in Singapore is an internationally recognised wetland (87 ha ecological site), it is a stopover for migratory birds including the pacific gold plover and the asian dowitcher. Chek Jawa off Pulau Ubin (100 ha wetland) includes 6 major ecosystems. It is estimated over 700 native species of plants, 175 species of butterflies, 215 species of birds and over 40 species of reptiles, with many of these being very rare and not found on mainland Singapore. d. Cultural – The Botanical Gardens, a UNESCO site - people go to relax, e.g. walk, yoga, picnic, exercise and relax, maintain their mental and and physical health. Tourism as it's a UNESCO site.
