Answering question 2 - design citizen research around dangerous places. 1. Online research to establish a baseline. We could have pictures or a video of different places and ask people to rate them for safety, or we could ask people who know those areas to tell us how they feel. 2. On the ground research. Researchers (clearly identified, tabards!) ask people who have just walked through those areas to rate their experience. 3. App-based. Researchers create an app which spots when someone has passed through an area under study and pops up a question asking them to rate it. (May be hard to get enough people to download it). 4. Active interventions. Repeat 2/3 but making temporary changes to the place. e.g. put in more lighting, set up a food van with seating, put in a pocket park.
