Stocks -Non-perishable food: Almost all the processed food is made and store in the city, some is distributed to other cities. -Historical information: Quito's historical center is known for its architecture and libraries which contain valuable information, nowadays, its is a important matter how to share this information with the rest of the world. Flows -Fresh food: Most of the fruit, vegetables and meats are produced in the rural part of Ecuador, they are brought every week by farmers and mostly distributed in farmer-markets. -Water for consumption: Most of the water that is used comes from a part of the province called Amaguaña, transported to Quito, used and again distributed to the rest of the country. -Electricity: Almost all the energy in Ecuador is produced by hydroelectric plants, those are placed mostly in the amazon part of the Ecuador, then distributed to Quito and the rest of it. In the future, more sustainable systems of food production could be placed and the dependency of the country be cut.
