FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 3: "Factors of Livability"
Uploaded on 2020-06-03 by Paul Sitzman
Here's my top 5 big cities which I've visited, in no particular order: Sydney, Tokyo, New York, Paris, Buenos Aires. It's hard to rank them specifically, because I spent different amounts of time in each, for different reasons, and there are language considerations to take into account for some as well. My 5 factors for including these cities on my list are: Comfort - Even if I'm a foreigner, how long does it take me to find a place (restaurant, city square...) anywhere where I can sit down and blend in with the crowds for a couple minutes. This has to do with acceptance and friendliness/happiness of the citizens as well. Climate - Does the climate encourage me to be outside? Transportation - Ease of use, cost and availability. All of these cities made it easy for me to get out and explore the city, and made me feel like I had known the systems for years. Outdoor spaces - Great use of outdoor spaces that flow from one to the next Safety - I had no problem going out at night in any of these cities and never felt uncomfortable. I have no hope for my current city.
